Group Accountant

This entrepreneurial property company has an opportunity for an experienced Group Accountant to join them in a key role reporting to the Board. The business, which operates internationally, is in growth mode having won several recent deals.

The Role

The Role is broad-based and often stand-alone, requiring the self-discipline to work independently.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Consolidation (80%)

  • All accounting and consolidation of 5 UK entities: monthly, quarterly and annually.
  • Production and development of forecasts, budgets, variances and reports to monitor business performance.
  • Management of consolidated financial reporting, YE statutory accounts, and all inter-company transfers & reconciliations, including legal overseas entities in France & Luxembourg.
  • Liaison with Auditors, Banks and HMRC.
  • Company Secretarial duties.
  • Over time, Luxembourg accounting will be added and the opportunity to support French accounting entities.

Partnering (20%)

  • Supporting the Sales Partner in negotiations, acquisitions, relevant accounting, project build/management, budget preparations, and helping on events management etc.

Personal Attributes

  • Experience of several year-ends in an SME accountant role.
  • Ideally some knowledge of property transactions, investment and development.
  • Qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • High levels of professionalism, accuracy and precision in their work.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems ideally Yardi and/or Sage.
  • Sector background ideally in construction or buying, renting of land; ("Buy, Build, Rent").
  • The autonomy & dependability to work unsupervised (this is a finance team of 1).
  • UK working entitlement.
  • French (written and spoken) would be advantageous.
  • Based Central London.
