Group Accountant

Overview

This role sits within the Group Finance function of a global investment management organisation. The position is responsible for designing and delivering high-quality financial reporting and management information for multiple private equity investment platforms, while supporting the reporting requirements of senior executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial reporting for investment platform boards.
  • Produce budgets, forecasts, detailed cost reporting, variance analysis, and long-term financial projections.
  • Prepare statutory accounts for multiple group entities and liaise with external auditors where required.
  • Present financial statements to Boards of Directors for approval.
  • Drive improvements to financial reporting processes and internal controls.
  • Partner with Fund Administration, Portfolio Monitoring, and HR teams to deliver consistent management reporting.
  • Collaborate with international finance teams to ensure reporting consistency across different business platforms.
  • Work closely with Group Finance colleagues to ensure platform-level reporting aligns with consolidated financial statements.
  • Support ad hoc projects and analysis requested by senior stakeholders and board members.

Skills & Experience

  • ACA qualified with strong academic credentials and first-time exam passes.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable interacting directly with senior executives and board members.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, multitask, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to operate effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working within large or listed organisations is advantageous.
  • Advanced Excel skills required. Experience with Power BI, PowerPoint, Visio, or similar reporting tools is beneficial.
