About the role

We are looking for a Group Accountant to join Cyncly’s Group Finance team.

This is a hands-on role with exposure across the Group Statutory Compliance and Control Manager, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely consolidated financial reporting, group accounting, external audit and continuous improvement of our reporting processes and controls.

Working closely with the regional and entity finance teams, FP&I and other Finance functions, the Group Accountant this role will help ensure the integrity of Cyncly’s consolidated financial information and support the development of a scalable, consistent global finance environment.

The role would suit a recently qualified accountant who combines strong technical accounting fundamentals with a practical, delivery-focused approach and enjoys working across a complex international organisation.


Key responsibilities

Group reporting and consolidation

  • Support the monthly, quarterly and annual Group close and consolidation process.
  • Prepare and maintain consolidation schedules goodwill, intangibles, IFRS16
  • Assist in the preparation of the group month end pack, treasury files and cashflow
  • Review entity reporting submissions for completeness, accuracy and consistency with Group reporting requirements.
  • Investigate consolidation and reporting issues, working with entity finance teams to resolve them efficiently.
  • Support preparation of the Group's primary financial statements, supporting schedules and management reporting.
  • Perform analytical reviews of consolidated results and balance sheet movements, identifying unusual or unexpected items.
  • Maintain clear documentation and audit trails for consolidation adjustments and key reporting judgements.

Group accounting

  • Support the application and ongoing development of Cyncly's Group accounting policies.
  • Assist with technical accounting analysis and the implementation of accounting conclusions across the Group.
  • Support accounting for areas such as acquisitions, restructuring, leases, foreign currency, intangible assets, share-based payments and other complex or non-routine transactions as required.
  • Help ensure consistent accounting treatment across Cyncly's legal entities and jurisdictions.
  • Maintain appropriate accounting papers, reconciliations and supporting documentation.

Audit and external reporting

  • Support the annual Group audit and other external reporting requirements.
  • Prepare audit schedules and supporting workpapers and coordinate responses to auditor information requests.
  • Work with entity finance teams to ensure audit deliverables are accurate, complete and provided to timetable.
  • Help resolve audit queries and track open items through to completion.
  • Support preparation of financial statement disclosures and other external reporting information where required.

Process improvement

  • Help simplify, standardise and automate Group reporting and consolidation processes.
  • Maintain and improve Group reporting instructions, templates, close trackers and issue logs.
  • Support improvements to reporting systems, chart-of-account mappings and consolidation processes.
  • Contribute to Finance transformation initiatives and other projects as required.
  • Provide flexible support across the wider Group Finance team during periods of peak demand, including audit, statutory reporting, investor reporting or transaction-related activity.

About you

Essential

  • Qualified accountant such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
  • Strong grounding in financial accounting and financial reporting.
  • Experience of month-end, year-end or Group reporting processes gained within industry, practice or a combination of both.
  • Strong Excel and financial analysis skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with large volumes of financial information while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Strong reconciliation and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to communicate clearly with finance colleagues across different countries and levels of seniority.
  • Comfortable managing multiple deadlines in a fast-moving environment.
  • Proactive, organised and willing to take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Desirable

  • Experience working within an international or multi-entity Group.
  • Exposure to Group consolidation and/or experience preparing/auditing consolidated financial statements.
  • Experience within a software, technology, SaaS or private-equity-backed organisation.
  • An interest in improving and automating finance processes.

  • Deliver accurate, well-supported Group reporting to agreed deadlines.
  • Build strong working relationships with finance teams across Cyncly.
  • Identify issues early and take ownership of resolving them.
  • Improve the quality and consistency of entity submissions and consolidation outputs.
  • Maintain high standards of accounting documentation and control.
  • Help make the Group close and reporting process progressively simpler, faster and more scalable.
  • Develop their technical and commercial understanding and become a trusted member of the wider Group Finance team.
