Group Associate Director of People Delivery

This is an exceptional opportunity to join The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust as the Group Associate Director of People Delivery, a pivotal senior leadership role operating across both The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and Sandwell & West Birmingham NHS Trust as part of an ambitious and evolving NHS Group model.

As a key member of the senior People leadership team, you will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight and performance management across a broad People Delivery portfolio, ensuring outstanding People Services that support over 15,000 colleagues across two major NHS organisations.

Reporting to the Director of People & OD, you will lead high-performing teams across People Operations, People Governance, and People Systems, Analytics and Digital, driving workforce transformation, service excellence and organisational effectiveness. This role offers the opportunity to deliver innovative workforce solutions, improve employee experience and shape the future workforce agenda across the Group.

We are looking for an inspirational and credible People leader with significant experience of operating at a senior level within a large, complex organisation. You will bring a track record of leading large-scale workforce transformation, delivering operational excellence and creating cultures where people can thrive.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and visible leadership for the Group People Delivery function across both Trusts, ensuring high-quality, efficient and customer-focused People Services
  • Lead the delivery of the Group People Strategy, aligning workforce priorities with organisational objectives, transformation programmes and operational performance requirements.
  • Oversee People Operations services, including employee relations, medical staffing, recruitment, workforce resourcing, organisational change and trade union engagement.
  • Ensure robust workforce governance, compliance and assurance arrangements are in place, supporting Boards and Executive Teams with high-quality workforce intelligence and risk management.
  • Provide leadership for workforce systems, analytics and digital services.
  • Act as a trusted adviser to Executive Directors and senior leaders on complex workforce, organisational development and change management matters.
  • Lead and inspire multidisciplinary teams, creating a culture of accountability, innovation, continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Develop and deliver workforce transformation programmes that improve employee experience, workforce productivity, recruitment, retention and organisational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to financial sustainability through effective resource management, workforce planning, productivity initiatives and value-for-money service delivery.
  • Deputise for the Director of People & OD and represent the organisation at as required.
