A bit about the role
This role reports to Group Management Accountant
Location: London, UK (Hybrid)
As Group Balance Sheet Controller, you'll play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of Hyve's balance sheet across approximately 50 legal entities. Working with finance teams across the Group, you'll take ownership of the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process, helping to ensure balances are accurate, well understood and supported by strong financial controls.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes and working collaboratively across an international business. You'll help strengthen financial controls, support statutory reporting and audit activities, and play an important role in driving automation and continuous improvement across the Finance function.
As part of your job, you’ll be:
- Own the monthly balance sheet reconciliation process across the Group, ensuring reconciliations are completed accurately, consistently and on time.
- Review and investigate aged or unusual balance sheet items, working with finance teams to resolve issues and improve balance sheet integrity.
- Develop and maintain robust reconciliation standards, ensuring supporting documentation is complete and compliant with Group policies.
- Prepare and review key control account reconciliations while supporting improvements to the month-end close process.
- Partner with colleagues across Finance to support statutory reporting, external audit activities and balance sheet analysis.
- Identify opportunities to automate, standardise and improve reconciliation processes and financial controls.
- Build strong relationships with finance teams across the Group to improve reporting quality and promote best practice.

Here’s what we’re looking for from you
- Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or relevant experience in a financial control or management accounting environment.
- Experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations within a multi-entity organisation.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, month-end close processes and double-entry accounting.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex accounting issues.
- Confident communicating with stakeholders across different teams and building collaborative working relationships.
- Strong Excel skills with excellent attention to detail and organisational ability.
- A continuous improvement mindset, with an interest in automation and improving finance processes.
You’ll know you’re successful when
- Balance sheet reconciliations are completed accurately and on time across all legal entities.
- Aged and unreconciled balances are significantly reduced, improving the quality and integrity of the Group's balance sheet.
- Reconciliation processes become more efficient, standardised and automated, strengthening financial controls across the Group.
