Senior Claims Operations Manager

About the Role

Canopius is seeking an enthusiastic professional to manage our group claims operations team, including overseas providers based in India. This role involves proactive coordination across all regional claims operations, ensuring high-level operational control consistency. Collaboration with internal stakeholders—including Finance, the internal broker team, and claims colleagues across product lines and regional units—is critical.

Key to this position is providing proactive support and liaison as the primary operational contact/reporter for the global Claims Leadership team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess the performance of our outsource partners, ensuring high-quality service across areas such as:

    • Payments processing
    • Claim setup
    • Data entry & triage
  • Onboard outsourced resources into claims processes, promoting efficiency and consistency across regions.

  • Implement and monitor groupwide operational controls to address:

    • Data issues in financial information
    • Dummy claims
    • USM/SCM compliance
    • Matching discrepancies

  • Support the Claims Leadership Team (CLT) and regional senior leaders in:

    • Coordinating and executing claims strategy
    • Collaborating with internal claims teams
  • Demonstrate initiative in driving:

    • Project and transformational change
    • Operational excellence
  • Work with Claims Operations to manage and enhance fiscal controls, ensuring financial integrity for the Claims function.

  • Oversee the internal claims peer review process, securing end-of-year performance targets and:

    • Compiling monthly status reports on any concerns
  • Partner with stakeholders to streamline the bordereaux process, including:

    • Handling queries
    • Core system mappings and reporting
    • Resolving bordereaux management tool discrepancies
  • Conduct regular reviews of SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) to:

    • Ensure processes remain effective and compliant
    • Identify improvements in operational workflows
  • Proactively address ad-hoc queries from both internal and external stakeholders.

  • Drive continuous improvement in Claims Operations, adapting to business demands while upholding excellence.
