Ready to lead a global insurance programme that protects and enables business growth?
As Group Commercial Insurance Manager, you’ll help deliver our risk transfer strategy, optimising risk retention and risk transfer while ensuring we meet statutory and contractual requirements and are suitably protected against insurable losses. You'll lead commercial insurance programmes, build influential partnerships and drive continuous improvement across our insurance programme.
Working closely with the Head of Insurance, you’ll lead the placement, renewal and management of commercial insurance policies across our global operations. This includes managing the Specsavers Captive insurance programme, optimising the Total Cost of Risk, maintaining strong governance, overseeing claims reporting and payments, managing budgets and expenditure, reviewing contracts and commercial agreements, and ensuring cover aligns with Specsavers’ insurable risk appetite. You’ll also work closely with insurers, brokers, suppliers and stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Risk, Resilience and the wider business to ensure our insurance programme is commercially effective, well governed and fit for purpose.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
