Description
Dains is a fast-growing accountancy and advisory firm, backed by private equity and on a clear trajectory to become a Top 20 UK firm.
We are seeking a Group Communications & Content Manager to lead Dains' content, communications and PR activity, strengthening brand reputation, market visibility and commercial growth across the Group. The role combines content strategy, content creation, communications planning and stakeholder engagement, ensuring consistent, high-quality messaging across all internal and external channels.
Reporting to the Group Marketing Director and working in close collaboration with senior leadership, service line specialists and the central marketing & business development team, you will develop thought leadership, brand narratives, PR programmes and strategic communications that support awareness, engagement and business growth.
Operating within Dains' regional structure, the role will define the Group communications strategy, messaging framework and content direction, enabling Regional Marketing Managers to activate campaigns and communications effectively within their local markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver the Group communications, content and PR strategy, aligned to business objectives, growth plans and brand positioning.
- Own Dains' messaging framework, ensuring consistent communication across all audiences, channels and regions.
- Plan, create and distribute high-quality content including:
- Thought leadership articles and insights
- Case studies and client success stories
- Campaign content
- Leadership communications
- Corporate announcements
- Multimedia content
- Manage the Group content calendar, ensuring a regular flow of relevant and commercially focused content.
- Collaborate with Partners, Directors and subject matter experts to develop market-leading thought leadership and raise the profile of key individuals across the business.
- Work with Regional Marketing Managers to provide content, messaging and communications frameworks that can be adapted for regional campaigns and market opportunities.
- Support growth initiatives through content that drives brand awareness, lead generation, social engagement, website performance and client engagement.
- Lead PR content development and media communications, supporting reputation management and increasing Dains' market visibility.
- Manage internal communications activity, ensuring colleagues remain informed and connected to key business priorities.
- Support communications relating to acquisitions, integration activity and significant business announcements.
- Manage external agencies, copywriters and suppliers where required.
- Monitor engagement and performance metrics, using insight to continuously improve effectiveness and impact.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Degree-level education or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, English or a related discipline.
- Professional communications or PR accreditation would be advantageous.
- Significant experience in marketing content, communications, PR or journalism roles, ideally within professional services, B2B or corporate environments.
- Proven experience developing content strategies and thought leadership programmes that strengthen brand positioning and audience engagement.
- Exceptional writing, editing, copywriting and storytelling skills.
- Experience creating a broad range of content including articles, reports, social content, campaigns, thought leadership and executive communications.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience working closely with senior leaders and subject matter experts.
- Understanding of content marketing, PR, brand positioning, reputation management and digital communications.
- Experience managing multi-channel content calendars and campaigns.
- Proficient in SEO, digital content best practice and social media amplification.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Experience supporting change, transformation or internal communications programmes would be advantageous.
- Outstanding communication, copywriting and editorial skills.
- Strong content planning and storytelling capability.
- Ability to simplify complex topics into engaging, audience-focused content.
- Commercially minded, creative and results focused.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Collaborative and confident working with senior stakeholders.
- Adaptable, proactive and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
