Job title: Group EHS & Sustainability Manager | Novacyt Group

Location: Hybrid / Manchester Science Park

Reports to: Chief Operations Officer

We're looking for an experienced Group EHS & Sustainability Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across our global business, supporting laboratory, manufacturing, warehouse, office, and field-based operations worldwide.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving Novacyt's global Environment, Health & Safety and Sustainability framework. You'll work closely with senior leadership teams across multiple international locations to ensure compliance, drive a proactive safety culture, and deliver meaningful sustainability improvements across the Group.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Group's EHS and Sustainability strategy across global operations - UK, Canada, Singapore, and Australia.
  • Develop and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Drive compliance with EHS legislation, industry standards, and best practice.
  • Lead incident investigations, risk management, and corrective action programs.
  • Deliver sustainability initiatives focused on energy efficiency, carbon reduction, waste reduction, and resource optimization.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and executive reporting for senior leadership and Board stakeholders.
  • Promote a positive, proactive safety culture across all Novacyt locations worldwide.

About You

We're looking for someone who brings:

  • 5-7+ years' progressive EHS experience at Manager level or equivalent.
  • Experience within life sciences, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, medical devices, IVD, or other regulated environments.
  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent Level 6 qualification).
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Experience delivering EHS improvements across multiple sites and international operations.
  • Additional experience in sustainability, carbon management, ESOS, IEMA membership, IOSH Chartered status, and international EHS leadership would be highly advantageous.
