About the Role
Eton Bridge Partners has been retained by a private equity-backed multi-site health & social care business based in Birmingham to appoint a Group Finance Director. Reporting to the CFO, this is an exciting stage to join the business. You will add significant value to the finance function with a particular focus on improving reporting, controls, cash management, and enhancing the 13-week cash flow forecasting process while playing an instrumental role in preparing the business for a future exit over the next 2-3 years. You will also work closely with the Board and private equity investors, providing significant exposure to key strategic and commercial decision-making. The ideal candidate would be experienced in leading and developing a finance team, and be invested in the use of AI tools within the finance function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
