About the Role
Eton Bridge Partners have been retained on a confidential search to appoint a Group Finance Director for a national infrastructure business, operating in a regulated, capital intensive sector, currently going through a significant program of finance transformation.
Responsibilities
- Reporting to the CFO, this is a senior leadership role at the heart of the finance function, with accountability for financial accounting and reporting, financial control, financial data management and tax.
- The successful candidate will take full ownership of the team and its deliverables, and will play a central role in modernising the function, from improving data integrity and upgrading the current ERP, through to defining and executing a roadmap for continuous improvement, including the use of AI.

- Owning the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial accounting and reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant reporting and regulatory standards.
- Designing and operating an effective financial control environment, appropriate to a business of this scale and complexity.
- Setting and leading the strategy, governance and lifecycle management of finance data, including improving data integrity and upgrading the existing ERP.
- Overseeing tax strategy, compliance, planning and reporting for the group.
- Leading, developing and taking full accountability for a finance team, building a high-performance culture and strong succession planning.
- Acting as a senior point of contact for finance operations, engaging confidently with the CFO and other senior stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate
- Day to day financial accounting and control experience within a business of similar or greater scale.
- Genuine curiosity, with a clear sense of what "good" looks like and a track record of driving improvement.
- Experience modernising finance data and systems, including ERP.
- Regulated accounts experience would be useful.
- A strong people leader, with a track record of building teams.
