Are you a business leader who happens to be brilliant at finance?

Great. Because being brilliant at finance gets you through the door.

That's your entry ticket. It isn't the job.

I'm going to assume you know your numbers. You'll be financially qualified, commercially sharp and capable of keeping a complex business profitable, controlled and heading in the right direction.

That's the baseline.

What makes this opportunity different is everything you get to do beyond finance.

This is your chance to become the number two in a £100m+ international agency group, working alongside the CEO and with direct relationships into Managing Directors and Business Directors across Europe, North America and APAC.

You'll have a genuine voice in where the business goes next and build the kind of commercial credibility that comes from helping to run and grow a global business, rather than simply running its finance function.

And if your longer-term ambition is COO, this is exactly the kind of role that can get you there.

Not because there's a promised promotion waiting around the corner, but because you'll be exposed to the things that turn great finance leaders into broader business leaders: M&A, operations, international growth, commercial strategy, people, systems and the decisions that shape what happens next.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Group is already hugely successful and established internationally, but there's considerably more to come. More growth, more complexity, further international expansion and significant M&A activity.

You won't be reporting on the growth of the business. You'll be helping to cause it.

Of course, you'll own the financial health of the Group. Cash, forecasting, controls, margins, WIP, utilisation, working capital and project profitability all matter enormously.

But remember: that's your entry ticket.

The real opportunity is the influence you'll have beyond it.

You'll lead an established finance team, but your reach will stretch across the entire Group. People will come to you because they trust your judgement, whether they need financial insight, a commercial view, a challenge, a decision or simply someone senior enough to take hold of something and get it moving.

This needs someone entrepreneurial, proactive and commercially minded. Someone who asks questions, forms a view and isn't afraid to challenge a CEO or MD when something doesn't stack up — but is equally capable of spotting an opportunity and pushing hard when it does.

You'll need genuine M&A experience and an understanding of the complexities of a fast-moving, project-led business, ideally within the creative, events or experiential world, where margins, resource, suppliers, freelancers and significant third-party costs all need careful commercial management.

This opportunity won't be given to the person with the longest finance CV. It'll be taken by the person who sees the biggest opportunity.

The opportunity to broaden your remit, build genuine international experience, make significant commercial decisions and put your fingerprints on the next stage of a successful global business.

To have influence. To make things happen. And to be able to look back in three or five years and say:

"I didn't just look after the numbers. I helped build the business."
