Job Purpose
We’re looking to hire a finance professional to join the Group Finance team with responsibility for a portfolio of UK and Jersey entities. The role offers broad exposure across financial reporting, statutory accounts, management reporting, tax, treasury, regulatory, and board reporting, with ownership of key finance processes and involvement in the preparation of statutory and regulatory reporting for FCA-regulated entities.
The successful candidate will work closely with senior finance stakeholders across the UK and Europe on business-critical reporting and decision-making, while developing a strong understanding of the investment management industry. It’s an opportunity to gain broad, hands-on experience in a high-performing finance function, supported by structured training and exposure to a wide range of finance activities.
Role Responsibilities
Management Accounting
- Prepare management accounts for a portfolio of UK and Jersey entities, excluding DRC.
- Review bank journals prepared by the Finance Placement Assistant.
- Monitor cash balances and maintain the ICARA liquidity monitoring tracker.
- Prepare and maintain intra-group loan and interest schedules, working closely with Group Finance teams across multiple jurisdictions.
- Review purchase ledger transactions, VAT postings, sales ledger activity, and evidence provided to Fund and Investment teams.
- Coach the Finance Placement Assistant across accounts payable, accounts receivable, and credit control activities.
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and month-end intercompany schedules for UK entities, liaising with overseas finance teams to ensure timely reconciliation of balances.
- Maintain UK disbursement ledgers, including monthly recharges and collaboration with Investment teams on cost recoverability.

Management Reporting
- Prepare and present monthly management reporting packs to the Group Financial Controller and key business stakeholders.
- Prepare monthly cash flow forecasts for UK entities.
- Prepare quarterly board packs for FCA-regulated entities and Board/Members Committee meetings.
Tax and VAT Compliance
- Prepare and coordinate corporate, partnership, and VAT filings for UK and Jersey entities, ensuring submissions and compliance obligations are completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with external tax advisers and the Head of Tax on local tax matters, including preparation and review of supporting information, calculations, and tax analyses.
Financial Reporting and Audit
- Play a key role in the year-end audit process, including preparing audit deliverables and coordinating responses to audit requests.
- Prepare statutory financial statements for UK and Jersey entities.
- Deliver Group IFRS reporting requirements in line with Group reporting deadlines.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Participate in the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting process, working closely with senior management and Heads of Country.
- Prepare variance analysis and reporting against budget and forecast assumptions.
Regulatory Reporting and Client Money
- Prepare regulatory reporting requirements for FCA-regulated entities, including quarterly board reporting.
- Conduct monthly review meetings with the third-party administrator responsible for client money operations.
- Contribute to the annual client money audit process.
- Perform annual due diligence reviews in accordance with FCA client money requirements.

Projects, Systems, and Continuous Improvement
- Take ownership of the UK travel system and support ongoing development of the global solution.
- Identify, document, and implement process improvement initiatives across the finance function.
- Contribute to finance, procurement, treasury, budgeting, forecasting, and wider UK/European finance projects.
Training and Development
- Develop expertise in the Group's finance systems, processes, and regulatory environment.
- Build knowledge of the investment management industry through exposure to a broad range of finance activities and stakeholders.
- Embrace the firm's culture, values, and ESG objectives while collaborating effectively across teams.
Person Specification
- Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
- Investment management, real estate, or financial services experience beneficial, but not essential
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems (Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience advantageous)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across the business
- Well-organized, able to manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines
- Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn
- Collaborative team player with a professional approach
