Group Finance Manager
Salary: £45,000–£48,500 per year, dependent on experience
Location: Office-based in Shirley.

Nova Stars Group is a rapidly growing healthcare group supporting people with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health conditions through specialist residential, supported living, and transitional services.
We are looking for an experienced and commercially-minded Group Finance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function across multiple companies and services.
Working closely with the CEO, Directors, and Senior Leadership Team, you will strengthen our financial controls, improve processes, and provide the insight needed to support sustainable growth and high-quality care.
The Role
You will be responsible for:
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts across multiple companies, services, and cost centres.
- Providing Directors with a clear consolidated view of the Group’s financial position.
- Developing and managing multiple budgets.
- Monitoring expenditure, identifying variances, and working with service managers to improve financial performance.
- Overseeing cash-flow forecasting, bank accounts, reconciliations, purchase and sales ledgers, and credit control.
- Managing invoicing for local authorities, NHS organisations, and other commissioning bodies, ensuring invoices are accurate, submitted promptly, and paid within agreed timescales. This will include resolving disputed and overdue payments and identifying any emerging cash-flow risks.
- Overseeing payroll across multiple companies, including salaries, hourly pay, overtime, enhancements, deductions, pensions, and statutory payments. Ensuring payroll is accurate, approved, and completed on time.
- Coordinating year-end accounts, external audits, VAT returns, and statutory reporting. Having a strong understanding of Companies House requirements and being confident managing statutory submissions, financial compliance, and key deadlines across multiple legal entities.
- Supporting acquisitions, new service mobilisation, and wider business development.
- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs, improve value for money, introduce automation, and strengthen financial systems without compromising the quality or safety of care.

About You
You must have:
- Previous finance experience within the health and/or social care sector, ideally within a multi-site or growing organisation.
- Experience working as a Finance Manager, Management Accountant, Group Finance Manager, or Senior Finance Officer, with responsibility for managing finance across multiple companies, services, or cost centres.
- Confidence in producing management accounts, developing and monitoring multiple budgets, managing cash flow, and meeting Companies House and other statutory deadlines.
- An ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or AAT Level 4 qualification and strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, payroll, credit control, audit requirements, and VAT.
- Excellent Excel and analytical skills, alongside experience using cloud-based accounting systems. Xero experience would be desirable.

You will work with Xero, BrightHR, and Blip, with training provided where required.
