Group Finance Manager (M&A & Integration)

£60,000 - £65,000 + Benefits | Hybrid Working | East Midlands

This is an outstanding opportunity for an ambitious ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified professional seeking broader commercial exposure.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll operate at the heart of the business, supporting both day-to-day financial activities and high-profile strategic projects. You'll be exposed to a diverse range of responsibilities covering:

  • Technical accounting
  • Group reporting
  • Acquisitions and integration activity
  • Commercial finance projects
  • Stakeholder management
  • Finance transformation initiatives
  • Business growth and strategic planning

  • Support the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting
  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts and year-end processes
  • Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal controls
  • Support audit processes and maintain strong governance frameworks
  • Assist with treasury and cashflow forecasting activities
  • Deliver accurate, insightful and timely financial information to senior stakeholders

Acquisitions & Integration

  • Support financial due diligence activities during acquisitions
  • Assist with the onboarding of newly acquired businesses
  • Coordinate post-acquisition integration projects
  • Drive consistency across financial reporting, systems and controls
  • Monitor integration progress and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Work closely with senior leaders to support successful acquisitions and business expansion

Commercial Finance & Strategic Projects

  • Provide analysis and insight to support strategic decision-making
  • Support annual budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Assist with long-term business planning and investment appraisals
  • Develop meaningful KPI reporting and performance metrics
  • Contribute to change management and transformation projects
  • Partner with operational leaders across the organisation to drive performance improvements

Stakeholder Management

  • Act as a key finance representative across the business
  • Build strong relationships with senior internal stakeholders
  • Liaise extensively with external advisers including:
    • Accountants
    • Legal specialists
    • Banking partners
    • Auditors
    • Corporate finance advisers
  • Support commercial negotiations, acquisitions and strategic business initiatives
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously whilst ensuring deadlines are consistently met

About You

We're seeking a motivated and ambitious finance professional who enjoys operating in a dynamic, project-led environment.

Essential

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualified
  • Good technical accounting background
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

Highly Desirable

  • Acquisition or M&A exposure
  • Post-acquisition integration experience
  • Group or multi-entity environment experience
  • Banking and lender relationship exposure
