12 month FTC - £120-140k - Investment Management
We are seeking an experienced Group Finance Project Manager / Financial Remediation Specialist for a 12-month contract focused on historical balance sheet clean-up, group consolidation remediation, and financial process standardisation.
This is not a standard month-end reporting or BAU accounting role. We are looking for an investigative, hands-on Finance Project Manager who excels at untangling complex historical ledger issues, reviewing legacy retained earnings, and adjusting multi-entity consolidation journals.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform deep-dive investigations into historical, unsubstantiated, and out-of-book opening balances. Resolve discrepancies between local statutory accounts and group ledgers.
- Directly execute rectifying and opening balance journals within Hyperion / HFM to ensure alignment across group equity, retained earnings, and entity-level balance sheets.
- Re-architect financial reporting workflows and SOPs for specialized areas (such as co-investment vehicles and staff loans), ensuring robust internal controls and clear audit trails.
- Work closely with Group Reporting teams, entity-level financial controllers, and external auditors to document historic adjustments and secure audit sign-off.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
