The Opportunity

Finatal has partnered with a private equity-backed international technology group providing software, procurement and data-driven solutions. Through a portfolio of market-leading businesses, the group supports over 500 customers and 7,000 vessels worldwide, helping organisations improve operational efficiency, procurement effectiveness and decision-making through innovative technology solutions.

Having experienced significant growth through both acquisition and organic expansion, the business is continuing to invest in its finance infrastructure and reporting capabilities. As part of this journey, they are seeking a Group Financial Accountant to join the finance team and support the continued development of a robust, scalable group finance function.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a recently qualified accountant looking to gain exposure to group reporting, consolidations, acquisition integration and finance transformation projects within a fast-growing international business. Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, CFO and regional finance teams, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of group financial reporting while helping support the next phase of growth.

The Role

Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, the Group Financial Accountant will support the monthly financial close and consolidation process across a complex, multi-entity international group.

The successful candidate will be heavily involved in group reporting, intercompany accounting, financial controls and the implementation of Sage Intacct. They will also have exposure to future acquisitions, supporting integration activities and helping establish consistent financial processes across the organisation.

This role requires a technically strong accountant with a solid understanding of financial controls, group accounting principles and revenue recognition, alongside the ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, evolving private equity-backed environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly group financial close process across multiple entities.
  • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations for holding companies.
  • Consolidate monthly group financial results and support group reporting requirements.
  • Manage intercompany accounting processes and reconciliations across the business.
  • Support the ongoing implementation and optimisation of Sage Intacct.
  • Assist with the integration of future acquisitions into the group finance structure and reporting framework.
  • Review and improve financial controls, processes and reporting standards across subsidiary businesses.
  • Support revenue recognition reviews and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
  • Work closely with external auditors and tax advisers throughout the year-end and audit process.
  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns for holding entities.
  • Partner with the Group FC, CFO and regional finance teams on accounting and reporting matters.
  • Support finance transformation initiatives and process improvement projects across the group.

Candidate Profile

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified with approximately 1-3 years post-qualified experience.
  • Strong technical accounting background gained in practice or industry.
  • Experience working within a group reporting, financial accounting or audit environment.
  • Good understanding of revenue recognition principles and financial controls.
  • Exposure to multi-entity businesses and consolidated reporting is highly desirable.
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation and month-end accounting experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a proactive and hands-on approach.
  • Confident working with senior stakeholders across finance and operational teams.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly Sage Intacct, would be advantageous.
  • Strong Excel and analytical capabilities.
