Job Description
The Group Financial Accountant will play an integral part in shaping the Group Financial Accounting Team as it continues to develop into a first-in-class reporting function. Reporting into the Group Reporting Manager, this role offers significant exposure to group consolidation, technical accounting, audit, and cross-functional finance operations within a complex, multi-currency international environment.
The role will support the Group Team in cross-functional management and will have exposure to Tax, Treasury, FP&A, Accounts Payable, Legal, and Finance Operations.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
Month-end & Quarter-end Close
- Support planning and execution of the group close process
- Communicate close instructions to the wider team
- Support Group review of local TBs on BD5 review calls
- Monitor submission and quality of local reporting deliverables to Group
- Manage ledger lock process in SAP
- Own intercompany reconciliations and resolution of differences
- Ownership of IFRS 16 lease accounting at Group level
- Prepare FX analysis and OCI reclassification adjustments
Group Consolidation
- Support maintenance of the group consolidation in Lucanet
- Prepare data import files
- Maintain the Group topside adjustments tracker and post consolidation journals
- Perform data validation checks across Balance Sheet, P&L, PPE, and Equity
- Responsibility for intercompany eliminations and reconciliation process
- Liaise with Tax and FP&A to ensure alignment of group adjustments
Annual Report and Audit responsibilities
- Support audit deliverables and respond to audit requests
- Own the consolidation to annual report mapping files
- Prepare significant note disclosures and supporting schedules

Intercompany responsibilities
- Ownership of the intercompany matrix review process (BS & P&L)
- Liaise with local finance teams to resolve discrepancies
- Oversight of intercompany recharges and postings
- Review intercompany interest calculations
Technical Accounting responsibilities
- Ownership of Group Impairment Models (Goodwill, PPE, ECL)
- Responsibility for ensuring Group policies are maintained and consistently applied across the Group
- Strengthen technical accounting documentation (IFRS 15/16)
- Support technical accounting assessments and prepare technical accounting memos
- Support IFRS to US GAAP reconciliation requirements where applicable
- Provide accounting guidance to the wider finance team
Process Improvements & Controls
- Ensure key close controls are performed and documented
- Monitor submission and review local balance sheet reconciliations and variance analyses
- Perform periodic user access reviews across financial reporting systems
- Govern the Group Chart of Accounts, including approval and documentation of new GL accounts
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- Qualified Chartered Accountant – ACA or international equivalent (No ACCA or CIMA)
- Top 10 audit training
- 1-2 years PQ experience in a large multi-currency business
- Group Consolidation experience (Excel or consolidation system)
- Strong intercompany experience
- Working knowledge of financial reporting systems (SAP S/4Hana and/or Lucanet advantageous)
- US GAAP reporting experience advantageous but not essential
- Full UK Working Rights (no sponsorship available)
- Hybrid working – 2-3 days in the office (based in London, Bank)
