Group Financial Controller, Creative Agency, London, £100-110,000
We’re working with a well-established, global creative business operating across approximately 10 countries, supporting a diverse international client base.
The business is looking to appoint a technically strong Group Financial Controller to oversee group financial reporting, strengthen financial controls and ensure consistency across its international entities.
This is a key role within the finance function, offering responsibility for group consolidation, statutory reporting, financial governance and the continued development of accounting processes across a complex, multi-entity environment.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
- Oversee group consolidation, including intercompany reconciliations, elimination entries and resolution of intercompany differences.
- Manage month-end and year-end close procedures, ensuring the integrity of the general ledger, trial balance and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Ensure consistent application of accounting policies and compliance with relevant accounting standards across international entities.
- Oversee the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate external audits across multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisers and other professional service providers.
- Oversee intercompany accounting, foreign currency transactions, revaluations and consolidation adjustments.
- Ensure appropriate accounting treatment for accruals, prepayments, fixed assets, provisions and other complex accounting areas.
- Monitor compliance with statutory filing requirements, local accounting regulations and group reporting deadlines.
- Develop and maintain robust financial controls, accounting policies and reporting procedures across the group.
- Support the implementation and standardisation of finance systems, reporting tools and accounting processes.
- Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency, accuracy and consistency of the group finance function.
- Lead and develop the financial control team, ensuring high standards of technical accuracy, accountability and delivery.

About you
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, with a strong technical accounting background.
- Proven experience in a Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller or equivalent senior financial control role.
- Strong technical knowledge of group consolidation, statutory reporting and financial accounting.
- Experience working within a multi-entity, international group structure.
- Good understanding of foreign currency accounting, intercompany transactions and consolidation adjustments.
- Experience managing external audits and statutory accounts across multiple entities.
- Strong knowledge of financial controls, balance sheet integrity and month-end and year-end reporting.
- Familiarity with relevant accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial reporting systems or ERP platforms.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple reporting deadlines across different jurisdictions.
- A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work effectively with finance teams and external stakeholders internationally.
- Experience within a global creative, media, marketing or professional services business would be advantageous.
