Group Financial Controller

International Growth Business | PE-Backed | Finance Transformation

A fast-growing international organisation is seeking an experienced Group Financial Controller to lead and scale its Centre of Excellence on the South Coast. Reporting to the CFO, you will drive process standardisation, automation, and financial controls across a multi-entity group operating in the UK, Europe, and North America.

This is a highly visible leadership role focused on building efficient, scalable finance operations that support rapid growth and the integration of acquisitions.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Shared Services

  • Lead the Finance team across Order-to-Cash, Purchase-to-Pay, and Record-to-Report.
  • Drive service excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Build and develop a high-performing international finance team.

Process Transformation & Automation

  • Redesign finance processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
  • Lead ERP, systems optimisation, and automation initiatives.
  • Deliver streamlined month-end close and reporting processes.

Controls, Governance & Audit

  • Maintain a robust financial control environment across the Group.
  • Ensure audit readiness and consistent accounting policies.
  • Manage relationships with external auditors and key stakeholders.

Data & M&A Integration

  • Improve finance data quality and reporting consistency.
  • Standardise chart of accounts and reporting structures.
  • Lead finance integration activities for newly acquired businesses.

About You

You are a commercially minded finance leader with a strong track record in shared services, finance transformation, and operational excellence.

Essential Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA).
  • 10+ years' finance leadership experience.
  • Proven success leading Finance functions in complex organisations.
  • Deep knowledge of O2C, P2P, and R2R processes.
  • Strong ERP, automation, and process improvement experience.
  • Experience managing audits and strengthening financial controls.
  • Background in international, multi-entity organisations.

Highly Desirable

  • Experience in PE-backed, high-growth, or acquisitive businesses.
  • M&A integration experience.
  • Exposure to multi-jurisdictional reporting and US GAAP.
  • ERP implementation or finance transformation credentials.
