About the Role
We are partnering with a private equity-backed, high-growth professional services group, based in Solihull, undergoing an ambitious buy-and-build strategy. With strong financial backing and an active M&A pipeline, the business is scaling rapidly through acquisitions and organic growth.
As part of this journey, we are seeking a technically strong ACA qualified Group Financial Controller to play a critical leadership role in shaping a best-in-class finance function. This is a unique opportunity to join at a pivotal stage and have genuine impact on the future of the organisation.
Responsibilities
Reporting directly to the CFO, you will operate at the heart of a fast-paced, deal-driven environment. You will combine strong technical expertise with commercial acumen, helping to scale the finance function while supporting ongoing M&A activity and post-deal integration.
You will lead from the front, driving improvements in reporting, controls, systems, and processes, while building a high-performing team.

- Own and enhance the Group's financial control environment
- Lead consolidated reporting and statutory accounts across multiple entities
- Ensure consistency in accounting policies (IFRS/UK GAAP)
- Manage external audits and regulatory compliance
Private Equity & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a key interface with private equity investors
- Support board reporting and strategic decision-making
- Build relationships with lenders, auditors, and advisors
M&A & Integration
- Support financial due diligence and deal execution
- Lead post-acquisition integration of finance processes and reporting
- Drive synergy tracking and performance optimisation
Transformation & Continuous Improvement
- Drive improvements in reporting quality and timelines
- Lead finance transformation projects across systems and processes
- Implement scalable infrastructure to support growth
- Champion automation and efficiency initiatives
Leadership
- Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing finance team
- Foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement

Candidate profile required:
- ACA or ACCA qualified
- Previously trained with a top-tier accountancy firm.
- Experience within a private equity-backed business
- Strong M&A exposure
- Track record of driving change in reporting, systems, and processes
- Experience in post-acquisition integration
- Strong technical knowledge (IFRS/UK GAAP)
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
What's on offer:
- £100,000 - £115,000 + benefits package to include bonus
- Based in Solihull on a hybrid basis
