Alexander Daniels are delighted to be partnering with a growing, multi-site organisation to recruit an experienced Group Financial Controller for a pivotal leadership appointment. This is an outstanding opportunity for a technically strong and commercially minded finance professional to join an ambitious business and play a key role in supporting its continued growth and strategic objectives.

The Opportunity

Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the senior leadership team, the Group Financial Controller will take ownership of the operational finance function, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, strong governance, and effective financial planning across a complex multi-site operation.

This is a hands-on leadership role offering significant exposure to strategic decision-making, business growth initiatives, and acquisition activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the finance team, driving high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, financial controls, and reporting processes.
  • Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts, KPIs, and commercial performance analysis.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations, group consolidations, and statutory reporting requirements.
  • Lead the year-end audit process and ensure ongoing regulatory and tax compliance.
  • Develop and maintain detailed cash flow forecasts and working capital management processes.
  • Support funding activities and maintain relationships with lenders and key financial stakeholders.
  • Provide financial insight and analysis to support business growth, investment decisions, and acquisitions.
  • Assist with integrating newly acquired businesses into established financial reporting and control frameworks.
  • Drive improvements in financial systems, reporting capabilities, governance, and risk management.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified (or equivalent).
  • An experienced Financial Controller, Head of Finance, or senior finance leader within a multi-site environment.
  • Technically strong with expertise in financial reporting, consolidations, controls, and compliance.
  • Commercially astute with the ability to translate financial information into meaningful business insight.
  • Comfortable operating within a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
  • An effective leader capable of developing teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Previous experience within a regulated sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
