Group Financial Controller | FTSE-listed Group | South Yorkshire, Hybrid | Confidential Search
STOIX is retained on a confidential basis to find a Group Financial Controller for a FTSE-listed, group generating over £1bn in revenue. The client name isn't shared at this stage, candidates who progress will sign an NDA before any further detail is disclosed.
This is a newly created role, reporting directly into a Group CFO with real momentum behind a broader finance transformation. The business is approaching a major ERP replacement alongside a shift to a controls-based audit, a genuine opportunity to shape how AI and automation land in a finance function moving on from legacy systems.
The role
Reporting to the Group CFO with four direct reports across finance data and MI, financial control, group reporting, and management accounting. Owns all financial control matters and finance "run" processes across the group, statutory and half year/full year reporting under IFRS, the external audit relationship, and the ICOFR framework. Leads the Group Audit Committee agenda, working closely with a highly experienced, well-regarded chair.

What we're looking for
- ACA or ACCA qualified, ideally Big 4 trained, with 5+ years' relevant experience in practice and/or industry.
- Proven PLC or listed financial reporting experience, statutory accounts and half year/full year under IFRS.
- Has genuinely owned an external audit relationship and led Audit Committee agendas autonomously, not just supported someone more senior doing it.
- A track record of leading and developing a team.
- Strong technical accounting depth, comfortable on emerging and complex IFRS positions.
