Blair West Supports Global Business with North East Headquarters
Blair West are supporting a global business with North East headquarters with the appointment of a Group Financial Controller. A number 2 role reporting into the Group Finance Director, the successful candidate will lead a team across a broad finance function to support the wider business and ensure the highest quality of financial reporting and controls.
The incoming Group Financial Controller will be suitably ambitious, with strong leadership experience, technical skills across IFRS/FRS102 and a successful career to date.
The Opportunity
- Lead the year-end audit process and manage external audit relationships.
- Balance sheet control & review across a multi-entity international group reporting environment.
- Drive continuous improvement across financial processes, using technology and automation to streamline business processes.
- Lead a finance team with day-to-day responsibility for the finance function.
- Work with advisors and lead on tax compliance.
- Ownership of the statutory consolidated accounts.
- Own the group finance manual for processes and policies.
- Treasury & Payroll management.
- Support the senior leadership team on strategic and ad-hoc projects.

You’ll Be the Ideal Candidate for This Role If You Have:
- A qualification in accounting (CA/ACA/CIMA/ACCA) with suitable PQE.
- Strong technical skills and IFRS/FRS102 knowledge.
- Ambition and are willing to take ownership to solve problems.
- A flexible approach to support business requirements.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with other departments and external stakeholders.
- Good organisation with an attention to detail.
