Our client is a rapidly growing private equity backed data services firm based in central London. They are looking to bring in a Financial Controller as the outright No. 2 to the CFO.
Having recently made an acquisition which has doubled the size of the business, and with growth plans to triple in size again over the next 3 years, the CFO is looking to strengthen the finance function.
This Financial Controller position will support the CFO with creating the finance infrastructure, reporting, team, technology & tools that will underpin the continued expansion of the organisation. This is a fabulous opportunity for an ambitious Financial Controller to join a rapidly growing company in the early stages of a private equity cycle and go on a journey with them. Their intention is to exit the business in 3-4 years and the Financial Controller will play a key role in helping the business become ‘exit ready’.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
