Description

Energy Aspects has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and driven Group Financial Controller to join our Finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an established, hands-on Financial Controller to join our growing organisation at a particularly exciting time, as we prepare for our next funding cycle and acquisition integration. The Group Financial Controller is expected to act as the CFO’s delegated owner of accounting truth, financial control, operational treasury, P2P/payments, tax governance and Group financial stewardship across EA. EA Finance operates as one Group Finance function organised around end-to-end processes and capabilities. Location identifies where this role is based; it does not limit functional scope, seniority or ownership. The role is expected to work across Group entities, customers and processes using common Group standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own Group close, consolidation, general ledger integrity and balance-sheet reconciliation standards.
  • Remain accountable for the Group close and financial integrity while delegating day-to-day Group R2R process ownership and close orchestration.
  • Own accounting policies, revenue-recognition accounting, deferred-revenue GL and technical accounting governance.
  • Own statutory reporting, external audit, tax/VAT/transfer-pricing governance and entity compliance.
  • Own operational treasury: cash positioning, bank administration, intercompany funding, debt/interest administration and covenant-monitoring mechanics.
  • Own the Finance-side P2P and payment-control framework, payroll accounting and payroll-to-GL controls.
  • Maintain Group Finance policies, delegated financial authorities and chart-of-accounts governance.
  • Lead, coach and performance-manage the Group Controllership team across all locations, building consistent standards, succession and resilience.
  • Drive root-cause remediation, automation and standardisation with Finance Operations & Systems.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
