Group Financial Controller
Permanent
Salary: £110,000-£120,000
Location: UK (Remote)
Working Pattern: Fully Remote, with monthly/quarterly team meet-ups
Reporting To: Chief Financial Officer
A private equity-backed, international consulting business (£53million revenue) is seeking a Group Financial Controller to join its leadership team during an exciting period of transformation and growth.
Following the merger of two established businesses several years ago, the organisation now operates across the UK and US with a strong client base, a proven track record of clean audits and a reputation for delivering high-quality professional services. As the business enters its next phase of maturity, significant investment is being made into finance, systems and operational infrastructure to create a more scalable and integrated platform.
This newly strengthened Group Financial Controller role will play a critical part in supporting the CFO, enhancing financial control across the group and driving a substantial systems and process transformation agenda. The successful candidate will take ownership of group accounting, audit, compliance and reporting activities while helping to modernise finance operations and support a future ERP consolidation programme.
This opportunity would suit a commercially minded finance leader who combines strong technical accounting expertise with experience operating in complex, multi-entity and international environments. The role requires an individual who can maintain best-in-class financial control whilst simultaneously driving organisational change and influencing stakeholders across the business.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
