Interim Group Financial Controller – 12-Month FTC

📍 Location: London (Hybrid, 3 days in office)
🗓️ Contract: 12-month Fixed Term Contract
💷 Salary: £150,000 – £180,000 + bonus, pension & benefits
Pear Talent is representing a leading UK purpose-led financial services group, servicing millions of customers with c£50bn AUM. The group's financial performance is very strong and the business is continuing year-on year growth, with ambitious plans for the next 3-5 years.
This is a critical hire for an Interim Group Financial Controller on a 12-month FTC. You'll report to the CFO, leading a Finance team (x10-15) and own all group financial reporting, consolidation and financial control, with regular visibility to the Exec/Board and Audit Committee. This person will also have a key role in shaping a major Finance change programme.

Key responsibilities:
- Lead group financial reporting, statutory reporting and consolidation across the group's entities, under IFRS and UK GAAP
- Own the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close, and improve quality, timeliness and efficiency
- Prepare and present financial results and papers for the CFO, Executive Board and Audit Committee
- Manage the external audit from planning through to sign-off, as the main point of contact for the audit partner and team
- Keep a robust financial control environment in place, including accounting policies, key judgements and technical accounting positions
- Support regulatory reporting and governance, working with Risk, Compliance and Internal Audit
- Lead, develop and manage a team of around ten finance professionals, setting clear priorities and high standards
- Work closely with FP&A, Treasury, Tax and the wider business to give financial insight and clarity

About you:
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
- Proven Group Financial Controller or Financial Controller experience in financial services
- Strong financial/statutory reporting and consolidation (adv. in a group structure)
- Experienced team leader and stakeholder manager, used to building robust relationships
- Confident presenting to boards, audit committees etc.
- Track record of managing external auditors and resolving complex technical accounting matters
This role would suit a current Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller, Head of Financial Reporting or Head of Group Reporting, or an interim finance leader with financial services experience.
