Group Financial Controller

Trafford Park

£70,000 - £75,000 + Hybrid Working

Forge Talent are proud to be partnering with an exceptional, multi-site international group. I spent time on site with the Group FD this week and it's exactly the type of business ambitious finance professionals want to join.

The business has a clear growth strategy, significant investment behind it and a leadership team with a genuine long-term vision. Having recently completed a major acquisition, with further acquisitions already in progress, they're now looking to appoint a Group Financial Controller to support the next phase of growth.

Reporting directly to an impressive Group FD, this is a genuine No.2 role within finance. You'll take ownership of group financial control, lead the finance team and play a key role in strengthening processes, integrating acquisitions and supporting strategic decision-making across the business.

What you'll be doing

  • Owning BAU across a multi-site, multi-currency environment while helping the finance function evolve alongside a growing international group.
  • Lead monthly reporting and group consolidations.
  • Own month-end and year-end reporting under UK GAAP.
  • Drive working capital performance through oversight of AR and cash management.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes and governance across the group.
  • Manage the year-end audit process and statutory compliance requirements.
  • Lead, develop and mentor the finance team.
  • Support the integration of acquisitions, including reporting alignment, process improvement and controls implementation.
  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to provide meaningful financial insight.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
