Overview
STOIX is partnering exclusively with a large FTSE-listed organisation to appoint a Group Financial Controller. Given the confidential nature of the search, we are deliberately limiting information on the organisation and exact location at this stage. Further details will be shared with suitable candidates under NDA.
Role Description
Reporting directly to the Group CFO, this is a senior Group Finance leadership position with responsibility for the integrity of financial reporting and control across a complex listed organisation.
The role will take ownership of Group and statutory reporting, technical accounting, external audit and the Audit Committee agenda, alongside leading and developing a sizeable financial control capability. It will also play an important role in the continued evolution of the Group's finance and control environment.
Requirements
We are qualifying tightly for this appointment. Candidates should bring:
- ACA/ACCA qualification, ideally Big 4 or Top 10 audit trained
- Significant experience operating within a listed/PLC Group finance environment
- Strong ownership of Group financial and statutory reporting, including IFRS and external reporting requirements
- Evidence of having led a complex external audit and managed senior auditor relationships
- Direct experience of leading and preparing for Audit Committee agendas, with credibility operating with an Audit Committee Chair and senior Board stakeholders
- Deep technical accounting and financial control capability
- Experience operating within a large, complex organisation

We are particularly interested in individuals who have built their careers around Group Financial Control, PLC reporting, technical accounting and audit.
Location
North of England. The successful individual will need to be comfortable with a three-day-per-week office presence.
