Our Client
Mackie Myers has partnered with a private equity-backed, multi-site healthcare business to appoint a Group Financial Controller.
The Role
Reporting to the Group Finance Director, the Group Financial Controller will take ownership of group reporting, external audit, technical accounting and financial controls across a complex, multi-site organisation.
This is a high-profile role with significant exposure to senior leadership, investors and key external stakeholders. The successful candidate will combine strong technical expertise with a collaborative approach, ensuring robust financial governance while supporting the wider business as it continues to grow.
Main Duties
- Lead the monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information.
- Drive improvements to month-end reporting, shortening reporting timelines, enhancing financial insight and embedding best practice processes across the finance function.
- Own the year-end and external audit process, acting as a key contact for auditors and senior stakeholders.
- Drive a strong financial control environment across the business, ensuring policies and procedures are fit for purpose.
- Act as the subject matter expert for technical accounting matters, including IFRS compliance and accounting policy development.
- Oversee reporting, controls and governance across multiple business units and international entities.
- Support lender, shareholder and Board reporting requirements.
- Partner with finance and operational leaders to improve reporting, processes and systems.
- Lead, develop and mentor a high-performing financial control team.

The Successful Candidate
- ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, including IFRS.
- Proven experience leading group reporting and year-end audit processes within a complex, multi-site environment.
- Strong understanding of financial controls, governance and risk management.
- Experience operating within a private equity-backed and/or regulated business would be advantageous.
- Ability to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation.
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Systems and finance transformation experience would be beneficial.
