Interim Group Financial Controller

An international, private equity-backed technology business is seeking an experienced Interim Group Financial Controller to join the finance team for an initial three-month assignment, with the potential to extend.

The business has recently completed a major transaction. This is a senior and highly visible interim role, supporting the CFO and wider finance leadership team through an important period of transition.

The role will take responsibility for Group financial control and reporting across a complex, international and multi-entity organisation. Key areas will include Group consolidation, external reporting, technical accounting, audit, financial controls and governance, while ensuring critical reporting deadlines continue to be delivered accurately and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Group consolidation and reporting process across an international, multi-entity and multi-currency organisation
  • Oversee Group IFRS reporting, statutory financial statements and disclosures
  • Manage the external audit process and relationships with auditors
  • Provide technical accounting guidance across complex and judgemental IFRS matters
  • Ensure robust financial controls, accounting policies and reporting governance are maintained
  • Support the CFO and senior finance team with high-quality reporting, analysis and technical papers
  • Coordinate reporting activity across finance teams and ensure clear ownership and delivery against deadlines
  • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, systems and controls
  • Support the continued development of the finance function during a significant period of transition
  • Provide senior-level support across the wider Group Finance function as required

Requirements

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) with significant senior-level Group financial control and reporting experience within a large, complex international organisation. You will have strong hands-on experience across Group consolidations, IFRS reporting, financial statements, external audit and technical accounting, ideally gained within a listed or private equity-backed environment.

You will be a pragmatic and technically credible finance leader who is comfortable operating in a fast-paced and changing environment, able to quickly understand priorities and ensure critical reporting deliverables remain on track. Previous experience supporting a business through M&A, integration, or significant finance transformation would be advantageous.
