An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a well-established and purpose-driven organisation with an international presence.

This is a senior finance role with responsibility for the Group's financial control, reporting, consolidation and governance activities. Reporting to the Global Director of Finance, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial information, strengthening the control environment and providing insight that supports strategic decision-making and sustainable organisational growth.

The Role

As Group Financial Controller, you will lead the Group's financial reporting and control agenda, ensuring accurate, timely and compliant financial information is delivered across the organisation.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual Group financial reporting process.
  • Managing the consolidation of financial results across multiple Group entities.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards, statutory, tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining robust financial controls, policies and governance frameworks.
  • Leading the annual external audit process and ensuring audit findings are addressed effectively.
  • Overseeing the integrity of the Group balance sheet, cash flow and working capital.
  • Supporting budgeting, forecasting and longer-term financial planning.
  • Providing high-quality financial analysis, insight and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Identifying financial risks, opportunities and areas for improvement and taking appropriate action.
  • Driving continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, controls and reporting.
  • Working closely with operational and commercial leaders to support organisational performance.
  • Ensuring the quality, accuracy and security of financial data and management information.
  • Leading, developing and coaching members of the finance team.
  • Supporting mergers, acquisitions, restructures and other corporate transactions, including financial due diligence and integration.
  • Acting as a trusted adviser to the Global Director of Finance on financial governance, risk and business performance.

  • A recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CA, CPA or equivalent.
  • Significant post-qualification experience, ideally 7+ years PQE.
  • Extensive experience within financial control, Group reporting, consolidation and financial management.
  • Previous experience in a senior finance position such as Group Financial Controller, Financial Controller, Head of Finance or similar.
  • Strong experience of external audit, statutory reporting and financial governance.
  • A track record of strengthening financial controls, processes and reporting frameworks.
  • Experience managing, developing and motivating finance teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience working with complex financial data and modelling.
  • Experience of ERP and financial management systems, together with financial consolidation and reporting tools.
  • The ability to produce high-quality management information and Board-level reporting.
