Group Financial Controller/Company Accountant
Shipping and Engineering
Based in Falmouth
Solis Marine are a leading independent marine and engineering consultancy operating within the shipping, offshore renewable energy and clean shipping industries with clients from the insurance, legal, ship owning and energy sectors. Principal Offices in UK, Singapore and China.
We are looking to recruit a qualified accountant (ACMA, ACCA, ACA) to act as both Company Accountant for our two UK trading companies, and as Group Financial Controller for the wider business.
Main deliverables to the role are:
- All bookkeeping and transactions posting for two UK trading companies (Xero).
- Oversee monthly Payroll, complete VAT returns, raise client invoices, manage payments and bank reconciliations.
- Credit control.
- Management Accounts preparation for UK trading companies.
- Prepare monthly consolidated Management Accounts for Group.
- Budget preparation for UK trading companies and Consolidated Group.
- Work with external accountants on statutory reporting, year-end statutory accounts preparation and tax issues.

This role would suit an individual who is happy to take on the day-to-day accounting activities for the two UK businesses, and someone who is also keen to be involved at a more senior level and to prepare consolidated Group accounts each month in a timely fashion. We are a growing business and there is an opportunity for the right individual to grow the role and their own position within the Group.

The role will report to the two UK MDs for the day-to-day management of the finance functions, and to the Chairman and CEO for the Group level work. This is a full-time position with a minimum of 4 days per week based in our Falmouth office. We offer a competitive salary and benefits package.
