Financial Controller - International
up to £95k
4 days a week in the office - West London
We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to join a dynamic, international finance function. This is a hands-on role with responsibility for controllership activities across a portfolio of international commercial entities.
You will be a qualified accountant with strong technical accounting experience and a proven background in audit and financial reporting. You will be comfortable operating in a complex, international environment and working across multiple stakeholders and jurisdictions.
Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, ensuring accounting practices comply with relevant company policies and requirements
- Own period-end accounting and ensure timely and accurate group reporting across multiple international entities
- Prepare and oversee quarterly reporting packs, transfer pricing calculations/estimates and tax submissions
- Support US GAAP reporting requirements, including embedded derivative calculations, quarterly balance sheet net-downs and commitments schedules
- Ensure significant accounting transactions are reported appropriately and on a timely basis
- Support the implementation of relevant accounting standards and prepare technical accounting papers and memos where required
- Support an effective internal control environment and ensure appropriate controls are operating effectively
- Take ownership of statutory audits and ensure all relevant compliance requirements are met, including statutory accounts, tax reporting and applicable information returns
- Act as the key point of contact for offshore shared-service teams supporting the relevant entities
- Prepare and maintain entity-level cash flow forecasts, working closely with Treasury to ensure funding requirements are appropriately managed
- Work closely with HR and external providers to ensure payroll and benefits payments are processed accurately and on time
- Review and ensure HR-related expenses are correctly recorded
- Lead, support and develop members of the finance team, providing appropriate guidance, training and supervision to achieve individual and team objectives
- Contribute to ad-hoc finance projects and other activities as required

Candidate Specification

- Progressive experience in audit and accounting, with Big Four experience desirable
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Approximately 5+ years' post-qualified experience
- Strong technical accounting skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality accounting papers and technical memos.
- Solid knowledge and practical experience of US GAAP
- Experience operating within a SOX control environment
- Strong understanding of core financial processes, including month/period-end close, financial reporting and internal controls
- Knowledge of IFRS and/or UK GAAP
- Previous team management or people leadership experience
- Experience working within a global or multinational organisation
- Experience within the media, entertainment, sports or sports-rights sector
- Familiarity with SAP and OneSource Tax Provision
