Group Financial Controller - Central London | Global remit | PE-backed Technology / SaaS / Fintech | High-Growth
The Opportunity
A high-growth, private equity-backed technology business is looking to appoint a senior Group Financial Controller to take ownership of the global controllership function and play a key role in the continued development of the Group Finance organisation.
This is a genuinely global role, working across finance teams and entities throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, with responsibility for ensuring consistent financial reporting, robust controls and strong governance across the Group.
Reporting directly into the CFO, you will act as a key senior finance leader, providing oversight and leadership to regional Financial Controllers while maintaining a hands-on involvement in the Group's financial control, reporting and consolidation processes.
The business is operating in a high-growth, acquisitive and internationally complex environment, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working across multiple entities, jurisdictions and stakeholders and wants to have a meaningful impact on how a global finance function operates.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Group Financial Control function across multiple international regions.
- Provide functional leadership and oversight to regional Financial Controllers across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
- Own the Group's monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Lead the Group close and multi-entity consolidation process.
- Own and continuously strengthen the Group's financial control framework, accounting policies and governance.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulatory requirements and Group policies.
- Drive greater standardisation, consistency and efficiency across global finance processes and operating models.
- Oversee statutory reporting, external audits and wider internal control requirements across the Group.
- Identify control weaknesses and financial risks, implementing appropriate remediation and improvement plans.
- Partner closely with the CFO, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, Legal, Risk and other senior stakeholders.
- Provide controllership support across acquisitions, new market/entity launches and wider strategic projects.
- Support the continued development of a scalable and high-performing global controllership function.
- Drive opportunities for process improvement, automation and greater efficiency across the finance organisation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
