Group Financial Controller
Venture Recruitment Partners is delighted to be partnering with a leading infrastructure and services organisation in Andover to appoint a commercially focused Group Financial Controller. This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting credentials with a well-rounded commercial skill set and the ability to build influential relationships across the business.
Reporting into the senior leadership team, the Group Financial Controller will lead a sizeable finance function, ensuring robust financial control, high-quality reporting, effective governance, and strategic business partnering with senior stakeholders and budget holders across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the Group Financial Controller:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-disciplinary finance team, creating a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee the production of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting, ensuring stakeholders have access to meaningful financial insights to support decision-making.
- Take ownership of the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes, partnering closely with operational and commercial leaders to drive business performance.
- Act as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders and budget holders, providing robust challenge, financial guidance, and commercial insight to support strategic objectives.
- Drive improvements across finance systems, processes, and controls, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reporting capability, and data quality.
- Ensure strong financial governance and compliance, including statutory reporting, audit management, internal controls, and adherence to evolving accounting standards.
- Support key business initiatives, projects, and change programmes, providing financial leadership and influencing decisions across the wider organisation.
- Play a key role within the leadership team, working collaboratively across functions to deliver organisational goals and support future growth.

Requirements:
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, or CIMA accountant.
- Proven experience operating within a large, complex organisation with significant turnover and multi-site operations.
- Demonstrable success leading and developing finance teams, including managing experienced and senior-level finance professionals.
- Strong technical accounting and financial control background, coupled with excellent commercial awareness.
- Highly developed business partnering skills, with the ability to influence, challenge, and build credibility with senior stakeholders and budget holders.
- Experience driving process improvements, finance transformation initiatives, and systems enhancements.
- Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
- Experience within infrastructure, engineering, projects, contracts, or similar operationally focused sectors would be advantageous.

Additional Information:
- Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 dependent on experience.
- Company car.
- Comprehensive benefits package.
- Hybrid working model with up to 2 days working from home, subject to business requirements.
