The Role

Finatal has partnered with a Private Equity backed business services company, based in Maidenhead. Our client is searching for an experienced Financial Controller who is ready to take the next step within their career. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to make a real impact, while providing significant scope for growth, development, and exposure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own technical finance for the group including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, providing clear insight to the CFO, PE sponsor, and senior leadership.
  • Lead month-end close and deliver monthly management accounts and board/KPI packs to PE-standard.
  • Manage the audit process, statutory accounts, tax compliance, and advisor/auditor relationships.
  • Maintain strong balance sheet integrity and financial controls, including reconciliations and working capital management.
  • Deliver cash flow forecasting, runway modelling, and bank reporting.
  • Own the finance reporting platform, approval workflows, and process documentation as the business scales.
  • Drive process efficiency and support exit/due-diligence readiness.
  • Business partner with budget holders, providing commercial insight on performance and forecasts.
  • Support board and investor reporting, including quarterly PE updates.

  • Recognised professional finance qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent).
  • Post-qualification experience in a PE backed business.
  • Strong technical accounting and management accounts expertise, with regulatory awareness.
  • Proven leadership skills, with confidence managing people and developing a finance function.
  • Good technical/systems skills, with a track record improving finance processes.
  • Commercial awareness and strong stakeholder management, able to influence senior leadership and investors.
  • Comfortable driving change and taking ownership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills, able to manage multiple projects and timelines.
