Salary: £120k - £140k + Bonus + Benefits

The Business
Finatal is supporting a high-growth, PE-backed infrastructure business seeking to appoint a Financial Controller. Operating within a capital-intensive environment, the business has invested significantly in infrastructure assets and is entering an exciting phase of expansion, operational improvement, and value creation.
Reporting to the Finance Director, this role offers the opportunity to play a key leadership role within the finance function, partnering closely with investors, lenders, and operational stakeholders. The successful candidate will help drive financial control, reporting excellence, and support strategic decision-making as the business continues its growth journey.
The Role
The Financial Controller will take ownership of the group control and reporting environment, ensuring robust financial governance across a complex, asset-heavy organization. A key focus will be supporting capital investment programmes, maintaining strong controls around capex accounting, and providing high-quality reporting to both management and investors.

Key Responsibilities
- Own monthly management accounts, consolidations, and board reporting.
- Lead statutory reporting, year-end audit, and external advisor relationships.
- Develop and enhance financial controls, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Oversee capex accounting across significant infrastructure investment programmes.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation, project costing, and asset capitalisation.
- Partner with operational teams to monitor project performance, capital spend, and investment returns.
- Support debt, covenant, and lender reporting requirements.
- Deliver cash flow forecasting, treasury oversight, and working capital management.
- Produce reporting and analysis for private equity investors and the board.
- Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and controls.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
- Support M&A, integration, and strategic growth initiatives where required.

Candidate Profile
We are seeking an ambitious and commercially-minded finance leader with:
- ACA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
- Proven Financial Controller or Head of Finance experience.
- Strong experience within a PE-backed environment.
- Experience operating within infrastructure, utilities, transport, energy, telecoms, or other capital-intensive sectors.
- Demonstrable exposure to significant capex programmes, fixed asset management, and project accounting.
- Strong technical accounting and group reporting experience.
- Track record of managing audits, statutory reporting, and financial controls.
- Experience working with lenders, debt facilities, and covenant reporting highly advantageous.
- Ability to operate effectively within a fast-paced, investor-backed environment.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with credibility at board and investor level.
