The Role: Group Financial Crime Risk and Controls Consultant
This is an excellent opportunity for a financial crime or risk professional to take ownership of one of the most important components of our 2LoD financial crime framework. The role sits in 2LoD Global Financial Crime Compliance PRAGMA team (Policy, Reporting, Analytics, Governance, Methodologies and Awareness), providing exposure to senior stakeholders across the organisation and the ability to directly influence how financial crime risks are identified, assessed, governed and managed. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the Group Enterprise-Wide Risk Assessment (EWRA), ensuring that risk assessments across business units are effectively challenged, aggregated and translated into a clear Group-wide view of financial crime risk.
The role offers significant breadth and strategic impact, covering all major financial crime risk domains, including AML, sanctions, fraud, anti-bribery and corruption, customer due diligence and third-party risk. Beyond methodology ownership, the position provides the opportunity to enhance key governance tools such as risk registers, jurisdiction risk assessments, watchlist frameworks, screening controls and customer exit processes. It is ideally suited to an individual who enjoys combining technical financial crime expertise with senior stakeholder engagement, influencing decision-making at Executive and Board levels, and driving continuous improvement across a complex global organisation. This represents a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on the firm's financial crime risk management framework and overall risk culture.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
