The Opportunity

Tullow is offering an exciting opportunity within the Group Finance team, reporting to the Group Financial Controller. We are looking for a dynamic Group Financial Reporting Manager to join us on a Permanent (hybrid) basis, located at our office in Chiswick, London.

Job Purpose

The role will be primarily accountable for the monthly consolidation of Group Accounts, Annual results, Half year results, Trading updates and other regulatory Group Reporting requirements. In addition maintaining the financial records of all the Corporate Accounting entities in accordance with accounting, fiscal and industry best practice standards. The role is supported by a Group Finance Reporting team and is responsible for effectively managing their output and supporting their professional development.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the preparation of the monthly Group consolidated reporting and ensuring adherence with current Company guidelines and accounting policies as well as recommended accounting practice.
  • Ownership of the administration of the financial consolidation system (Cognos Controller) and monthly close activities.
  • Working with the BU finance teams in resolving any issues or queries and in ensuring the monthly consolidation is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Responsibility for the financial disclosures and support the external communications, circulars, prospectus.
  • Manage the coordination and preparation of the Year end and interim Group financial reporting, owning the relationship with the Group’s auditors.
  • Manage the Group statutory account process (including supporting the contracting strategy of the services to deliver the Statutory accounts).
  • Support CFO and Investor Relations with detailed understanding of the Groups financial results and forecast.
  • Assist with one-off business transactions and projects as required such as capital markets transactions, M&A and disposals.
  • Manage the Financial Reporting team supporting their development and ensuring the delivery of the responsibilities.
  • Responsible for monthly and annual financial and statutory reporting for all corporate entities:
    • Ensure compliance with all financial, regulatory and tax accounting requirements, including reporting.
    • Review all balances and ensure that adequate reconciliations completed and available timely for all Corporate entities.
    • Ensure that all reporting, audit and filing requirement deadlines are met whether to internal Tullow or external stakeholders. This includes (not limited to) all financial audits, statutory, and internal requirements
    • Management of internal and external audits and accountable for the quality assurance of all finance processes and the associated control environment

The role is required to manage the contract performance and delivery by 3rd party professional service providers of key deliverables as part of the reporting cycle, including audit and financial statement preparation.

Experience & Education

  • Degree qualified and ACA Chartered Accountant with relevant industry experience
  • Excellent financial accountant with proven track record with strong technical accounting skills
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of IFRS
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas accounting either industry or Big 4
  • Strong MS Office skills
  • Experience of ERP systems preferable
