Group Financial Reporting Transformation Lead | Major UK Retailer | Central London or Manchester (Hybrid Working) | Up to £115,000 | Permanent Role
Please note: candidates must be available to start by December 2026.
Robert Half is currently recruiting for a Group Financial Reporting Transformation Lead on behalf of a major UK retailer undergoing a significant transformation of its Finance function and the way Group Financial Reporting operates across the organisation.
This is a senior opportunity for an experienced Group Reporting professional to join the business at an important stage of its transformation journey. You’ll bring strong listed-company reporting experience and use it to help shape how the organisation consolidates, reports and governs its financial information for the future.
The role offers the opportunity to step beyond traditional BAU reporting and work at the centre of a major change programme, influencing processes, controls, governance and ways of working across a large and complex organisation.
📊 About the Position
As Group Financial Reporting Transformation Lead, you’ll take ownership of a key Group Reporting workstream and act as the subject matter expert across Consolidation, Group Reporting and External Reporting.
You’ll work closely with senior leadership and a broad range of stakeholders across Finance, Technology, Audit and Transformation. Your experience will be particularly important in ensuring that the future operating model reflects the practical realities of running Group Reporting within a complex listed business.
This is not a pure transformation or systems role. The successful candidate will have spent a significant part of their career actually running and owning Group Reporting, and will now have the opportunity to apply that experience to how the function operates in the future.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

🤝 Here’s What’s Waiting for You
- Up to £115,000 base salary.
- Hybrid working from either Central London or Manchester (3 days per week in the office)
- Genuine ownership of a critical Group Reporting workstream.
- The opportunity to influence the future operating model for Group Finance.
- A role combining technical Group Reporting expertise with transformation, change and stakeholder leadership.
💼 Why This Role Could Be Your Next Move
For someone who has spent years managing complex reporting cycles within a listed environment, this is an opportunity to take that experience and use it to shape what comes next.
You’ll be joining a major UK retailer at a significant point in its Finance journey, with the opportunity to influence how Group Reporting operates across the organisation rather than simply inheriting an established process.
The scale of the business means you’ll be dealing with complex group structures, multiple entities and significant reporting requirements, while working alongside senior Finance stakeholders on a transformation that will have a lasting impact.
For an experienced Group Reporting Senior Manager, Head of Group Reporting or equivalent who wants to broaden their experience beyond BAU reporting, this offers the opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with genuine transformation exposure and have a visible impact.
