Group Fleet Manager
Location: Dartford with national travel throughout the London & SE traffic area.
Contract: Permanent, full time | Reports to Group Transformation and Fleet Director
Package: Competitive salary and car allowance
The role
Metcor Group is seeking an experienced Group Fleet Manager to lead fleet compliance, operations, and continuous improvement across the group. You’ll hold named Transport Manager accountability, ensuring our fleet stays safe, compliant, and efficient.
The successful candidate will lead a small national fleet team, act as the main point of escalation for fleet operational matters, and work closely with business units to improve availability, utilisation, performance, and cost control.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead statutory Transport Manager duties and Operator Licence compliance across the Group.
- Own fleet compliance policies, processes, audits, and regulatory communications.
- Improve fleet availability, utilisation, and efficiency using data, including Samsara telematics.
- Oversee vehicle lifecycle processes, allocation, driver onboarding, and operational fleet queries.
- Lead fleet transformation projects, standardisation activity, EV planning, and emissions reporting.
- Manage budgets, suppliers, KPI reporting, RAIDO, and insurance claim activity.

About you
You will be a confident fleet or transport leader with strong compliance knowledge, senior stakeholder management skills, and experience leading teams, projects, and operational improvement in a transport environment.
Essential Experience
- Transport Manager CPC, national and/or international road haulage.
- Proven experience holding statutory Transport Manager responsibility.
- Experience managing fleet compliance, operations, administration, and audit programmes.
- Experience leading a multi-disciplinary team in a transport or fleet setting.
- Strong project management and stakeholder management capability.

Desirable Experience
- Experience with multi-category fleets; tank-vehicle, transformation, CILT, or telematics experience would be advantageous.
