Location & working arrangement
Nuneaton, Warwickshire | Full-time | Hybrid
We offer hybrid working, with an expectation that you'll be present at our Holland & Barrett office in Nuneaton for a minimum of 2 days per week.
Intro
This is an opportunity to shape how Holland & Barrett manages risk, assurance and resilience across our Group.
Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll bring together Enterprise Risk, Compliance, Internal Audit, Business Continuity & Resilience, Loss Prevention and Health & Safety into an integrated, commercially focused function.
You'll give our Executive Leadership Team and Board a clear view of the risks that matter most helping H&B protect our people, customers, reputation and value while giving the business confidence to grow.
What you'll be doing
- Lead and evolve our Group-wide approach to risk, compliance, assurance and resilience.
- Provide clear, independent insight and advice to the Executive Leadership Team, Audit Committee and Board.
- Embed risk thinking into strategic planning and significant business decisions.
- Lead our approach to Health & Safety, business continuity and organisational resilience.
- Develop a modern, intelligence-led approach to Loss Prevention, including shrink, theft, fraud and other preventable loss.
- Oversee a risk-based Internal Audit programme focused on the areas that matter most.
- Connect insight across the function to spot emerging issues earlier and address underlying causes.
- Increase the use of data, technology, automation and AI to strengthen insight and simplify governance.

What you'll bring
You'll be a senior leader with significant experience across risk, compliance, audit, assurance, safety, resilience or a related discipline. You don't need to be a technical specialist in every area, what matters is your ability to lead specialists, ask the right questions and exercise sound commercial judgement.
You'll Bring
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and developing high-performing people.
- Credibility working with executive teams, boards and senior stakeholders.
- The ability to turn complex risk information into clear choices and actions.
- A pragmatic, commercially focused approach to risk and controls.
- Confidence to challenge constructively while building trusted relationships.
- Experience navigating significant incidents, investigations or sensitive matters.
- Curiosity about how data, technology and AI can transform risk, assurance and resilience.
Experience within a complex consumer, retail, regulated or multi-jurisdictional organisation would be valuable.
