Senior Risk Analyst

Based in our London office and reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk Management, this role will focus on Hamilton’s Lloyd’s and Company operations. The primary purpose of the role is to support the ongoing implementation of Hamilton’s risk management framework and embedding a strong risk management culture throughout the business. The role will involve working with colleagues internationally, as Hamilton continues developing and growing its operations.

Hamilton Insurance Group, Ltd. is a Bermuda-headquartered company that underwrites specialty insurance and reinsurance risks on a global basis through its wholly owned subsidiaries.

What you will do

  • Assist with the implementation of Hamilton’s risk management framework to ensure that risks to the Company’s strategic and operational objectives are identified, assessed, monitored, and controlled in a transparent and efficient manner
  • Facilitate risk and control assessments to ensure that all existing, new, and emerging risks are appropriately captured and managed
  • Liaise with stakeholders to complete risk appetite monitoring
  • Administer the process for the capture of risk events and near misses, and investigate and document the root cause and planned remedial actions
  • Track risk management actions to timely completion
  • Develop and maintain key risk metrics
  • Contribute to the production of risk reports for the Board, Risk Committee, and others as required
  • Contribute towards production of the annual ORSAs, for publication to the Risk Committee(s), Board(s) and regulatory supervisors
  • Provide training to the business to support and implement a strong risk culture
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with all departments of the Company, external auditors, and third parties as appropriate

What you require for the role

  • Experience working within a similar risk management role
  • Familiarity with the insurance industry/Lloyd’s market
  • Motivated, self-starter with keen attention to detail
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; Outlook and Excel
  • Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, in a professional, approachable, and confident manner
  • Able to work autonomously with strong organisational skills and the ability to plan ahead
  • Analytical and problem-solving capability
