FD Capital is recruiting a Group Head of Finance on behalf of a growing UK property investment business based in Surrey. Our client acquires and develops specialist housing accommodation, leased to housing providers under long-term arrangements, generating resilient contracted rental income while supporting the wider need for better community-based care.

Operating through a multi-entity group structure, the business is now looking for a commercially minded, hands-on finance leader to take ownership of the finance function as the portfolio and investor base continue to expand.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the CEO/CFO, you will take full ownership of the integrity, control and forward planning of the Group's finances — spanning statutory and management reporting, VAT, cash-flow planning, investor distributions, group accounting, budgeting and fundraising support. This is a genuinely broad, senior finance leadership role for someone equally comfortable setting strategy and working through the detail.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
