Who we are

Apollo, a Skyward Group company, is an innovation-inspired insurance platform operating at Lloyd’s of London, delivering data-driven and creative solutions across a broad range of risks.

Our name reflects our origins. Inspired by one of our founding investors, Neil Armstrong, the first person to walk on the moon, the business was built with the same pioneering mindset. Alongside Jim Hays, Neil set out to create a different kind of Lloyd’s platform, focused, agile and built around people.

Since launch in 2009, we have grown into a diversified insurance group offering products across Property, Casualty, Marine, Energy and Transportation, Specialty and Reinsurance, alongside Smart Follow and digital and embedded risk programmes. Our experience and unique ecosystem give Platform Partners the best chance of success, from navigating the Lloyd’s new entrant process through to the delivery of their long-term strategy.

With a team of more than 300 professionals, we continue to grow with purpose, combining underwriting excellence, innovation and collaboration to enable a more resilient and sustainable world.

We are looking for an experienced FP&A leader to take on a newly created role, reporting directly to the Deputy Group CFO and working across the newly combined Skyward Specialty and Apollo businesses.

This is an opportunity to shape how FP&A works across the combined organisation. You will bring together planning, forecasting and performance insight across both businesses, creating a clearer view of performance and helping senior leaders make better, faster decisions.

The opportunity

This role is about more than running an FP&A cycle. You will help build a more integrated and forward-looking approach to financial planning and performance across Skyward and Apollo.

You will:

  • Lead and evolve planning, forecasting and strategic planning across the businesses.
  • Turn financial performance into clear, commercially focused insight for senior management and the Board.
  • Develop models and scenarios to support strategic, capital and investment decisions.
  • Strengthen cash and capital forecasting, including debt, equity and ratings agency activity.
  • Work with business leaders to challenge performance, assumptions and the key drivers of results.
  • Partner with Investor Relations on quarterly reporting, investor materials and Q&A.
  • Drive greater consistency, quality and efficiency across FP&A processes, reporting and modelling.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

About you

You will be an established FP&A leader who combines strong technical capability with commercial judgement and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders.

You will be comfortable moving between the detail and the bigger picture, able to challenge constructively and turn complex financial information into a clear story. Experience of building, improving or transforming FP&A will be important, with insurance or financial services experience highly advantageous.

We are looking for someone who wants to build and shape something, not simply inherit an established process.

Why join us?

Skyward Specialty and Apollo have recently come together, creating an exciting opportunity to shape how we plan, forecast and understand performance across the combined businesses.

Reporting directly to the Deputy Group CFO, you will have significant senior exposure and a remit that reaches beyond traditional FP&A into strategy, capital, investor relations and executive decision support.

The role will be based from our Apollo office in London, working on a hybrid basis and collaborating closely with colleagues across Skyward and Apollo.

What you’ll get in return

We offer a competitive and thoughtfully designed reward package that reflects the value of our people. This includes a fair and attractive salary, discretionary bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package - including 31 days’ annual leave, a non-contributory pension and private medical insurance.
