To support this ambition, we're investing in a best-in-class Procurement function, and we're looking for an exceptional procurement leader to drive this journey forward.
The Opportunity
As Head of Procurement - Indirects, you'll lead the strategy, performance and transformation of a diverse indirect spend portfolio worth approximately £300m annually.
Covering categories including IT, Marketing, HR, Professional Services, Facilities, Engineering Services, CapEx, Maintenance, PPE and Operational Services, you'll play a pivotal role in delivering commercial value, enhancing governance, and building strategic supplier partnerships across the business.
This is a high-profile leadership position with the opportunity to influence executive stakeholders, shape procurement strategy, and build a procurement function that is recognised as a true commercial partner.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead & Develop
- Drive the indirect procurement strategy across DCC Energy GB.
- Lead, coach and develop a high-performing procurement team.
- Champion procurement excellence and capability building.
- Lead critical sourcing programmes and complex commercial negotiations.

Deliver Commercial Value
- Embed best-in-class category management practices.
- Develop and execute category strategies across key spend areas.
- Deliver sustainable savings, cost optimisation and risk reduction.
- Strengthen supplier performance and commercial outcomes.
Partner with the Business
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders.
- Align procurement initiatives with strategic business priorities.
- Increase procurement influence and stakeholder engagement.
- Promote strong governance and procurement best practice.
Drive Transformation
- Play a key role in DCC Energy GB's procurement transformation programme.
- Partner with the Procurement Centre of Excellence to implement new systems, processes and ways of working.
- Lead organisational change and accelerate procurement maturity.
Enhance Governance & Supplier Performance
- Ensure procurement activities align with governance requirements.
- Oversee supplier risk, compliance and strategic supplier relationships.
- Improve visibility, control and operational effectiveness across the procurement lifecycle.
What You'll Bring
Experience
- Significant senior procurement leadership experience within a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Proven success managing large indirect spend portfolios across corporate and operational categories.
- Experience leading high-performing teams and developing talent.
- Strong track record of delivering procurement transformation and change.
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier management and commercial negotiation.
- Experience in energy, utilities, engineering, infrastructure or similarly complex sectors would be advantageous.

Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of category management and procurement operating models.
- Experience across Source-to-Contract (S2C), Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and supplier lifecycle management.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
- Commercially astute with the ability to balance value, risk and operational priorities.
- Data-driven approach with experience leveraging procurement systems and analytics.
