Role Purpose

The Group Head of Insurance will provide leadership and strategic direction for the Group’s global insurance programme, ensuring it is aligned to Menzies’ evolving risk profile, commercial priorities and appetite for risk. As the Group continues to grow across a complex international operating environment, including significant exposure in North America, this role will be accountable for ensuring the business has robust, cost-effective and fit-for-purpose insurance arrangements that protect the organisation, support operational resilience and enable informed decision-making.

Reporting to the Group CFO, the Group Head of Insurance will work closely with Group functions, regional leadership teams, brokers, insurers and legal partners to lead the development, renewal and continuous improvement of Menzies insurance strategy. The role will provide expert oversight of complex and high-value claims, including U.S. litigation exposure, while ensuring the Board and senior leadership have confidence that the Group’s insurance, broker and risk mitigation arrangements are delivering meaningful value, effective protection and strong governance.

What you will be doing

  • Lead the placement and management of all corporate insurance policies, renewals, and claims including North America personal injury litigation.
  • The management of all Insurance claims under corporate policies across the Group including U.S. litigation
  • Actively manage the Aviation Liability programme including annual renewal, liaison with insurer syndicate, working with brokers and day to day management of all claims globally.
  • Liaise with brokers, insurers, and internal stakeholders to ensure optimal coverage and cost-efficiency.
  • Provide strategic advice on risk mitigation and insurance implications of business decisions.
  • Support contract reviews and negotiations from an insurance perspective.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards.
  • Prepare reports and insights for executive leadership and legal teams.

What we are looking for

  • Experienced insurance executive with a proven track record in insurance management, ideally with specific experience in the aviation liability market. Liability claims handling experience, particularly with U.S. exposure.
  • Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels.
  • Strong ability to interpret and analyse legal documents and work collaboratively with internal and external legal counsel.
  • Comprehensive understanding of commercial insurance programmes, policy structures, and claims management processes.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, or an equivalent qualification, are highly desirable.
