Description

Harmony is on a mission to be the best life safety partner to work with and for. Rated an ‘Outstanding Employer’ by Best Companies in 2025, we are only getting bigger and stronger — and we’re looking for A-players to help us get there.

We are passionate about making a difference and obsessed with quality. Our goal is to build a world where every resident can sleep safely at night, knowing their home is 100% safe.

This is the senior operational IT leadership role for the Harmony Fire group — covering Harmony Fire, SolidCor, and Auro Technology, around 250 users across three trading entities and multiple UK sites. You will own the group’s business systems, reporting, IT projects, infrastructure, and support function end-to-end, running IT as a service the business actually relies on rather than a helpdesk it tolerates. Microsoft 365, Salesforce, SimPRO, Unleashed, Xero, Power BI, and our custom internal systems all sit under you: keeping them stable, integrated, well-licensed, and genuinely useful to the people using them.

This is a hands-on role and we mean it. You need to be strong across the whole stack — able to open the admin centre and fix it yourself, take the hardest ticket on the board, and tell a supplier exactly where their proposal is wrong. Reporting to the Group IT Director, you will line-manage the IT team, set the standard for how IT operates, and keep the platform ahead of roughly 30% year-on-year growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the group’s business systems estate — Microsoft 365, Salesforce, SimPRO, Unleashed, Xero, UniFi networks, custom internal applications and Excel tooling — keeping them stable, integrated and fit for how the business actually works.
  • Own group reporting and business intelligence — maintain the existing Power BI estate, scope new reporting requirements with department heads, and work with our BI partner to deliver reports people trust and use.
  • Lead the IT project portfolio — system implementations, integrations, telephony, SharePoint, office fit-outs and refreshes — from scoping and business case through delivery and adoption.
  • Land every project cleanly into BAU — you own the support function projects hand over to, so nothing goes live without documentation, monitoring, runbooks and a team that knows how to support it.
  • Manage delivery partners and suppliers — brief them properly, challenge their scoping and estimates, hold them to timelines and quality, and make sure knowledge transfers back into the business rather than staying with the vendor.
  • Line-manage and develop the IT team — set priorities, run the Atera helpdesk, own SLAs and ticket quality, and stay close enough to the work to take the hard tickets yourself.
  • Keep the BAU estate secure day-to-day — endpoint protection, MFA and conditional access, patching, access reviews, device compliance and security awareness training.
  • Own infrastructure and resilience — identity, networks, connectivity, backups, disaster recovery and business continuity: documented, tested and defensible, not assumed.
  • Own IT procurement, licensing and renewals — right-sizing the stack, negotiating commercially, and keeping spend visible and justified against the IT budget.
  • Deliver a first-class joining experience — provision hardware, accounts and telephony quickly and consistently, and keep offboarding and identity hygiene airtight as headcount grows.
  • Set up and refresh IT at new and existing sites — networks, connectivity, meeting rooms, print and key in-building systems — including regional offices, with some travel required.
  • Report to the Group IT Director on service performance, risk, project delivery and roadmap, and take on new initiatives as the group’s IT strategy develops.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • An A-player mindset — high standards, extreme ownership and the drive to do things properly, the first time.
  • Minimum five years in IT with real breadth, including experience leading a team or function — an all-rounder who has run systems, projects and support, not a single discipline specialist.
  • Genuinely strong technically and happy to prove it — this is a hands-on role where you diagnose, configure and fix things yourself, not delegate everything and manage a spreadsheet.
  • Deep, hands-on Microsoft 365 and Entra ID experience — admin centre, Intune device management, identity, conditional access and security baselines.
  • Strong understanding of business systems and core ERP/CRM functionality, and how data flows between them; able to spot where integration or process fixes beat buying another tool.
  • Working knowledge of Power BI and business reporting — able to scope requirements with the business, judge whether a report is right, and manage a BI partner to deliver it.
  • Proven IT project management — running multiple workstreams, third-party delivery partners and internal stakeholders to time and budget, and landing the result into supportable BAU.
  • Sound grasp of IT security fundamentals in a Microsoft environment — access control, endpoint protection, patching, backups — and how they hold up under Cyber Essentials-style scrutiny.
  • Commercially confident — budget ownership, licensing and renewal negotiation, and the judgement to push back on suppliers with evidence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, comfortable translating technical detail plainly for non-technical leadership, office teams and field engineers.
  • Right to work in the UK, with the ability to travel between London, Yeovil, Chesterfield, Edinburgh and other group sites as required.

Nice to Have

  • Salesforce administration experience, or a track record of managing a Salesforce implementation partner.
  • Familiarity with our wider stack — SimPRO, Unleashed, Xero, UniFi, Supabase, Cloudflare, Microsoft Fabric.
  • Experience building or maintaining a data warehouse or lakehouse and the reporting layer on top of it.
  • Automation or low-code skills — Power Automate, scripting, or building internal tooling to remove manual work.
  • Relevant certification — ITIL, Microsoft (MD-102, AZ-104, SC-300) or PRINCE2.
  • Experience in fire safety, construction, manufacturing or field-engineering environments, including supporting mobile and site-based teams.

Benefits

This is a chance to own the IT function at one of the UK’s fastest-growing fire safety specialists — running a broad, technically interesting platform across three trading entities, with the autonomy to set standards and the growth headroom to build something substantial. At Harmony, we ask a lot — and we give a lot back. The hours are real, the standards are high and the work is demanding, but for those who show up, deliver and go the extra mile, the rewards follow. A-players here enjoy a competitive salary, a performance bonus tied to successful on-time delivery against roadmap milestones and delivery KPIs, a Personal Development Plan with ongoing training and mentoring, unlimited holiday, private medical insurance, enhanced maternity and paternity, lunch, snacks and refreshments on us every day (fresh fruit and Takeaway Friday included), a team social budget, cycle to work, an auto enrolment pension, two major company events a year and our Reward and Recognition scheme — including European mini-breaks for those who go above and beyond. It is a collaborative, high-energy environment focused on doing things the right way — and none of it is a perk for showing up; it’s what we share with the people pulling the business forward.

Harmony is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all applicants for employment regardless of age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, family or parental status, race, colour, nationality, ethnic or national origin, religion or belief. We want everyone who works with us to feel valued and to make a difference.
